The Greenbrier - White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia - August 3-6, 2026
Ninety-three golfers and twenty-one non-golfers made the trip to the infamous Greenbrier. During our visit, we sighted a few large professional football players milling about, as the New York Giants team decided to hold its training camp at The Greenbrier too! Some of our members were lucky enough to even get over to the football practice fields, and a few may have even received some autographs! We also had our own Greenbrier celebrity with us as red dotter Frank Smith’s parents met and worked at The Greenbrier many years back and had their photographs in several of the advertising materials used by The Greenbrier in the 1950s-1960s!
In between all the Bunker tours and celebrity sitings, we did enjoy some wonderful golf! The courses were in great shape, and we got lucky on the rain – with the exception of about one hour during the Monday practice round. Even with the difficult courses, there were many good rounds and good golf shots, including Lee Gerdes for par 70, and Donna Jakulski for net 62. We also had a number of players with net 1-day scores in the 60s including Michael Fraley (guest), Mark Perlotto, John Van Benschoten (red dotter), Terry Anderson, Patricia Gallaher, Patti Ferrari, Dave Tholen (red dotter), Mark Bouy, Larry Minogue (red dotter), Lee Gerdes, Eddie Parker, Jeff DeHaven, Skip Wilson, Roger Plymel, David Wilkerson, Mark Adams and Frank Smith (red dotter).
